Vote Chori Row in Gujarat: Congress claims to have found 30,000 fake voters in the seat of a Union Minister

Congress makes big allegation on vote theft in Gujarat, claims to have found 30 thousand fake voters in Navsari Lok Sabha seat, 62 lakh names declared suspicious.

Political turmoil has started in Gujarat over Vote Chori. Congress has accused the Bharatiya Janata Party of adding lakhs of fake names to the voter list in the state.

Gujarat Congress state president Amit Chavda on Sunday claimed that 30 thousand fake voters have been found in an assembly constituency falling under Navsari, the Lok Sabha seat of Union Minister and BJP state president CR Patil.

Congress claims: 62 lakh names suspicious

Amit Chavda said that if the voter list of the entire state is checked, about 62 lakh fake names may come to the fore. He also added that now the Congress will check the voter list of Ghatlodia, the assembly seat of Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel.

Chavda said, “Out of 6.09 lakh voters in the Choryasi assembly constituency of Navsari Lok Sabha seat, 2.40 lakh were checked. It was found that about 12.3% names are fake. This is the reason why CR Patil has been winning with record votes again and again.”

Congress campaign and national issue

Congress has announced to start a door-to-door campaign in Gujarat from August 31 on this issue. The party also says that ‘Vote Chori’ has now become a national issue and not just a state issue.

Meanwhile, Rahul Gandhi is also taking out a Voter Rights Yatra in Bihar and is constantly attacking the central government on this issue.
