Rohit Sharma Fitness Test: After staying away from cricket for 3 months, Rohit Sharma passed the fitness test in Bengaluru, relief before the Australia tour.
Rohit Sharma was away from cricket action since playing his last match in IPL 2025. After a long break of almost three months, he finally proved his fitness at the BCCI Center of Excellence in Bengaluru. Fitness tests of the players were conducted here on Saturday and Sunday, in which many big names including Rohit Sharma participated.
Rohit Sharma passes Fitness Test
According to reports, Sunday 31 August was the second day of the fitness test and during this time all the players underwent Yo-Yo test. Most eyes were on Indian ODI captain Rohit Sharma, as questions were constantly being raised about his fitness. However, the ‘Hitman’ passed this test without any trouble and put an end to all speculations about fitness.
After passing the test, Rohit Sharma returned to Mumbai. In the video that surfaced, he looked completely fit, which has given a big relief to Team India and fans before the Australia tour.
Other players also gave fitness test
Apart from Rohit Sharma, Test team captain Shubman Gill, star fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah and pacer Prasidh Krishna also took part in the test. Especially Prasidh Krishna impressed with his performance and scored well.
BCCI has recently included bronco test along with yo-yo test to check the fitness of the players. Although it is not clear whether these players had bronco test or not, but according to reports, everyone definitely passed the yo-yo test.
Answer to speculations on ODI career
Ever since retiring from Test cricket, there were strong discussions about Rohit Sharma’s ODI future. It was even being said that his ODI journey might end after the Australia tour. But after passing the fitness test, the signs are clear that Rohit Sharma will continue to play an important role for Team India in the times to come.
