NEW YORK (TCN) — New York City Housing Authority workers discovered the dismembered body of a woman in the garbage room of an apartment building in Brooklyn.
On Feb. 1, workers found a plastic trash bag near the compactor in a garbage room. When they opened the bag, they discovered the dismembered remains of a woman, PIX11 News reports. According to a neighbor, the workers were screaming. He told PIX11 News, “They realized the bag was too heavy, so they opened it up, and the first thing they see is the head staring at them.”
The New York Police Department identified the remains as belonging to Michelle Montgomery, 39, on Feb. 2, WABC reports.
According to Yahoo! News, Montgomery was a mother of four and her youngest is 10 months old. She worked overnight shifts for Amazon. She was reportedly last seen at 11:30 p.m. the night before her body was found, dancing with two unknown people at Mama Tacos. According to a friend, Montgomery typically tags her friends in her social media posts, and no one knows who she was with in the video.
Montgomery’s husband, Anthony Echevarria, said, “Find out what really happened. That could be the biggest help to bring the dude that chopped up my wife to justice,” Yahoo! News reports.
According to WABC, no arrests have been made, and the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will determine the cause of death. The investigation is ongoing.
