Woman tried to break ATM to pay school fees of minor nephew, police arrested the accused from CCTV footage.

A shocking incident has come to light in Jabalpur, where a woman resorted to theft to pay the school fees of her minor nephew. This woman, who was facing financial crisis, went with her nephew to attempt ATM theft.

ATM Theft Attempt Case

According to the police, the woman and her minor nephew came to break the ATM late at night with iron rod, steel ring rod, spanner and screwdriver. They tried to withdraw money by damaging the machine but failed. Before fleeing from the spot, the accused woman also stole three CCTV cameras.

CCTV revealed the secret

On August 30, the manager of SBI Royal School branch lodged a complaint of ATM vandalism. Investigation revealed that the ATM has suffered a loss of about Rs 50,000. When the police searched the CCTV footage, the accused were identified.

Woman and minor arrested

A 24-year-old woman from Narsinghpur and her 16-year-old nephew were found involved in this incident. During interrogation, the woman admitted that she had planned the theft to pay her nephew’s 11th class fees. The police seized the Activa used in the incident, stolen cameras and tools.

SHO Sanjeevani Nagar Police Station VD Dwivedi said that the accused woman has been arrested and sent to jail, while the minor has been presented in the court as a child in conflict with law.
